SELBY, HAZEL LEWIS - age 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, December 28, 2012. Preceded in death by parents Jesse Martin Lewis and Jennetta Hill Lewis; husband of 71 years, Charles A. Selby; brothers, Raymond Lewis and Jessie Lewis; sisters, Euvella White, Sarah Graber and Virginia Holmes; and son-in-law, Bill Humphries. She is survived by two sons and their wives, David and Pat Selby of Hoover, Alabama, and Tom and Katherine Selby of Lake Mary, Florida; and daughter, Gail Humphries of Richardson, Texas; and grandchildren, David Selby, Rick Grant, Lynné Fletchall, Chip Selby, Amy Borja, Stephen Selby and Susan Caldwell; as well as ten great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews;and sister-in-law, Gloria Selby. Hazel was a member of First Baptist Church of Dandridge where she previously taught the volunteers' Sunday school class. She retired from East Tennessee Baptist Hospital after 23 years of service as administrative hostess. The family wishes to give a special thanks to the Tennova Hospice employees for their outpouring of kindness and compassion extended to our mother and her family. A private burial for family and close friends will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:00 that evening at First Baptist Church of Dandridge with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Dandridge, 951 S. Hwy 92, P.O. Box 246, Dandridge TN, 37725.
