HUGHEL, KYLE RAY - age 23, of Knoxville passed away on Sunday, August 5, 2012 in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was born on July 31st, 1989 in Knoxville, TN. Kyle graduated from Karns High School in 2008 where he was extremely active in the Technology Student Association. He was a National Merit Scholar and was to graduate in December from the University of Alabama with a degree in International Relations and Spanish. The highlight of his college career was the semester he spent studying abroad in Cuba. Kyle was an avid reader with a voracious appetite for knowledge. His interests also included video games, music, movies, and he loved animals. He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Dan Hughel, and his paternal grandparents, Don and Billie Hughel. He is survived by his loving mother, Wendy Hughel; devoted brother, Jon Hughel; his maternal grandparents, Jack and Lynn Bartholomew; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Kyle's quirky sense of humor and sweet soul will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 10th at 6:30 pm at Highland Memorial Funeral Home. The family with receive friends immediately following the service.
