Dear Reeves family: Larry taught on the same teaching team with my mom, Lois Byrom, for many years at Mt. Garfield Middle School.

In every memory I have of Larry, he has a smile on his face. He brought out the best in his students and his fellow teachers.

His love of the outdoors was infectious. The 7th grade team’s annual hike up the side of Mount Garfield was created to motivate the students, but the hike also motivated my mom. She was determined to keep up with Larry and (Jimmy) Somerville! She did it too – it took her a few years, but she got to the point where she made it up the mountain without having to stop and take breathers. It made a positive impact on my mom and on her relationship with her students.

I will never forget Larry's kindness and constant smile. He was a good man. My heart goes out to you.
