I only just learned of Mark's passing a few weeks ago and was deeply saddened when I heard the news. I had the honor and privilege of working with him while he was with the FBI as a hardworking member of the FBI's Audit Staff. His job, like many of the others on the staff, required frequent travel to FBI field offices around the country for two and three weeks at a time. A grueling schedule week after week and year after year.
As his supervisor, I took note that while others would seek out assignments to better locations like Florida or Hawaii, Mark would accept any assignment to any location, complete his tasks in a timely and professional manner and return ready to accept his next assignment. I recall Mark had made a special effort for my going away party from the Audit Unit by modifying and blowing up several photos which made me appear to look like Superman. I appreciated his effort then and even more now.
I also had the honor of meeting Mark's Mom and Step-dad while we were conducting an inspection of the Knoxville office. Both are very special people and I know Mark appreciated the love and support he received from both.
Mark was a soft spoken gentleman and I am a better person for having known Mark Steven Epler.

So sorry to hear about Mark's passing. I remember fondly the time we worked together at Bechtel in the summer. I admired his hard work ethic and kind gentle nature. This deeply saddens me and I will miss him. My heart goes out to the family during this time of grief. Sincerely, Karen Haffey Prozny

I am so sad to learn of Mark's passing. He was always such a kind and warm hearted person. I only have fond memories of Mark while we were growing up. Although we had lost touch in our adulthood, I will miss Mark. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Susan Canning Ingram
