SHARP, MARY LOU VINSANT - age 97, of Knoxville, formerly of LaFollette, passed away Thursday, December 27, 2012. Member of 1st Presbyterian Church of LaFollette and she later attended Faith Home Mission Church in Knoxville. Preceded in death by husband, Elbert Monroe Sharp; son, James Elbert Sharp; grandson, David Hendricks; sisters, Anna Mae Denton, Ellen Fay Daugherty, Burnettia Davis; brothers, Jerry, Edgar Lee and Stewart Vinsant. Survivors: daughter, Judith Kirkpatrick and husband, David; son, Hugh C. Sharp; daughters-in-law, Billie Sharp and Beegie Hendricks; grandchildren, Dana Brosan, Mark and Sherri Sharp, Barbara Ann and Mike Pollard, Lisa and Stan Marlow, Jennifer and Jamie Justus, Matt and Jan Kirkpatrick, and Michael Kirkpatrick; nine great grandchildren, Chance and Tiara Brosan, Kristin Marlow, Elizabeth and Emily Pollard, Sarah and Katie Sharp, Eli and Cal Kirkpatrick. Mary Lou attended Cumberland College in Williamsburg, Kentucky. She was kind, generous, and quick to laugh. Mary Lou was truly blessed with many talents, a gifted seamstress and dress designer. She could play the piano and organ by ear without the ability to read music and touched so many lives through her giving spirit. Material possessions were never her concern and she lived every day with a miraculous faith in the God she served. She worked with the Campbell County School System, and was a secretary for Denton & Denton Accounting Office with her sister for 40 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, worked with several homeless ministries, and conducted Bible seminars throughout the country. Family will receive friends 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, with services immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Cross-Smith Funeral Home, LaFollette. Interment Campbell Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Cross-Smith Funeral Home.
