Robert R. Mills III

MILLS, ROBERT R. (ROB), III - age 46 of Knoxville, loving husband and father, passed away, April 5, 2010. He was born in Baltimore, MD. Rob was a member of Fountain City United Methodist Church and worked at First Heritage Credit. Rob was an avid collector of movies, antiques and anything he found interesting. He enjoyed having friends over for bonfires and cookouts to be with his family and friends. Rob was a loving husband and devoted father to his family and will be greatly missed. His wit and great sense of humor could always make people laugh. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Rogers Mills, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife, Leigh Ann Smith Mills; daughters, Lilly and Regan Mills; mother, Barbara Mills; Sisters, Janet Hagel of Shewsbury, PA and Amy Mills of Temecula, CA; brother, Michael Louis Mills; parents-in-law, Ralph and Carolyn Smith of MS and Sandy and Larry Hackworth of WV; sisters-in-law, Sherri Haselden of Brandon, MS and Rebecca Stover of Lexington, OH; step-sisters-in-law, Jeannie Mills and Tracy Humphreys of WV and lots of nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered by his willingness to help others. It has been said that the longest distance in our lives is the distance between our head and our hearts. Our dear friend, Rob couldn't make this journey with us any longer and stopped on a gloriously beautiful Spring day. Many of you felt the passing of this glorious man and were saddened. Why! Why! Why? We don't know why, so we ask how. How can we help? What can we do? The answer might be as easy as telling someone everyday that we love them, that we appreciate them and that they are doing a good job. Then we stop...and listen. A celebration gathering of Rob's life will be held at their home Friday, April 9, 2010 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The burial will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, an account for the benefit of Lilly and Regan at any Regions Bank location has been established.
