ADAMS, MSGT STEVEN RAY - known to many as "Stretch", age 63, of Knoxville, TN, reported to his final post on Monday, 10/29/2012 at Knoxville, TN. His big heart and hardworking hands are now at rest. He was an outstanding, caring, intelligent man helping others sometimes to a fault and loyal to all those he loved. Steven was the oldest of two children. He served in the Air Force. He was a member of the 228th Combat Communications Squadron and was highly respected by his troops. A veteran of Vietnam, Gulf War Era, and Desert Storm, he earned numerous awards and recognitions and retired after 27 years of dedicated service. He was a long-time resident of Knoxville, TN. Steven was a member of the VFW. He enjoyed the Tennessee Volunteers. Steven will be remembered by his loving children: Angela Renee Adams affectionately known only to him as Angel Reborn, Brandi Dosdall his Baby Girl, his son, SSgt Steven Ray Adams, Jr. USMC his Bub. He is also survived by the love of his life, Kathy Harmon Adams, his precious daughter-in-law, Sgt Ginger Adams USMC, his wonderful son-in-law, Matt Dosdall; brother, Norman Adams; special niece, Traci Anderson; several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. His loving grandchildren whom he adored, Deana Bayless, Madison Bayless his jukebox junkie, Marina Adams his itty bitty brown eyed girl, Nathan Bayless II his little man, Dominic Dosdall his little buddy, Sierra Adams his sunshine, MeLeah Dosdall his blue eyed girl. Predeceased by his parents, N.J. "Ace" and Ila Adams.
Relatives and friends are invited to a gathering for Steven at 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, 11/3/2012 at Highland South Funeral Home, 9010 East Simpson Road, Knoxville, TN 37920. Military Honors will be rendered Monday, November 5, 2012 at East Tennessee Veteran Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, Knoxville, TN at 9:30 a.m.
