Wayne Blankenship Obituary

BLANKENSHIP, WAYNE GOVAN - age 61, of the Mt. Olive Community, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2008 after a three-year battle with Alzheimer's. Wayne attended Sertoma Center and participated in the Special Olympics. He belonged to Mountain View United Methodist Church. Wayne was preceded in death by parents, Wayne and Vaughtie Blankenship. Survivors include sister and husband, Emma and Carl Edmonson; niece and husband, Sally and Tony Marlow; great-niece, Stormie L. Juenger; nephew, Andrew Edmonson; and special friend, Opal Hoffner. Family and friends will meet at Greenwood Cemetery on Thursday for 10:00 AM graveside service, Rev. Al Shaver officiating. Memorials may be made to Sertoma Center, 1400 Fifth Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37917. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. www.berryfuneralhome.com
