BINGHAM, XAVIER C. - age 24, of Knoxville, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 in Murfreesboro. Xavier was a member of Burnside House of Prayer and was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ. He was a kind hearted and well gifted young man. He graduated from Carter High School and attended Walters State on a basketball scholarship. He was a friend to many and was quick to give before receiving. He had a smile that would brighten any and every room at the entrance. Xavier was very respectful and free-hearted to his elders, peers and family. He was known as a mentor and great friend. On his free time he enjoyed working out and playing basket ball with is favorite mentor, coach, and friend Jonathan Mayfield. No matter the time or place his basketball was nearby. He was very family oriented and did all he could to help any and everyone. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Xavier was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Basil Davis III; grandfathers, Alonzo Bingham, Sr., John Sanders and Claude Gross; aunt, Cathy Robinson; best friend, Justin Walker. He is survived by his son, Isaiah Downs; mother, Nakia Bingham-Davis; father, Claude Patrick; step father, Johnny Davis; siblings, Shacondra and Alexandria Davis, Claudia Patrick, Daniel Williams; grandmothers, Hattie Bingham and Mary Ann Patick; aunts, Benita, Maria, Yolanda (Brian), Germaine and Cindy; uncles, Ronnie, Ignatius, Alonzo (Tabitha), Mark (Latasha), Joseph and Cleophas; close friends, Mark Dubose, Roger Innis, Titus Bingham, Ryan Westbrook, Garrett Bineyard, John Lawler, Julius Holland; a host of family and friends. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon on Saturday at Greater Warner Tabernacle AME Zion Church, 3800 Martin Luther King, Jr. Avenue followed by a celebration of life at 12:00 noon with Elder Joe Risin officiating. Family and friends will gather at New Gray Cemetery at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, for graveside services. The family would like to express their appreciation to Cokesbury United Methodist Church.
