POTEET, GARY DARRELL SR. - age 56, of Knoxville, passed away, November 27, 2008. He was a member of Delano Baptist Church. Gary was involved in Gospel and Country Music for over 40 years in Knoxville and the surrounding area. He is preceded in death by parents, Billy Joe and Evelyn (Postelle) Poteet. Survivors: daughter and son in law, Alisa Renee and Jerry Bedwell; son and daughter in law, Gary Darrell and Julie Poteet; grandchildren, McKenzie and Marena Bedwell, Logan and Brooks Poteet; fiancée, Susan Prince and her children, Stephanie and Abby; sister, Patricia Lynn Poteet, Delano, brother, Timothy Poteet and wife Mary; aunts, Mayme Underwood and husband Charles, Maxine Hunt, Chloey Garren and husband James, all of Delano, Edith Poteet, of Chattanooga, Annette Pack and husband Cliff, of Georgia, Naomi Shell, Reliance, TN, Gwendolyn Shell, Reliance, TN, Peggy Siree and husband Dave, Jones Chapel, TN, uncle Marvin (Buddy) Postelle, Reliance, TN and his best friend Spanky. Service, 7:30 p.m., Sunday, Black Oak Heights Baptist Church, Pastor Ronnie Shelton and Pastor Steve Ross officiating. Family and friends will meet, 12:45 p.m., Monday, Delano Cemetery for a graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Steve Poteet, Lester Caulk, Randy Burns, Jim Mikels, Ronald Hughes, Gary Whaley, Dennis Bates and Jerry Richardson.
