TOWLE, JOHN W. - age 92 of Knoxville, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, February 15th. He was a WWII veteran who served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Tech Sergeant. He retired from the Y-12 plant in Oak Ridge after 28 years as a landscape design foreman. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Levi and Mary Beulah Wilson Towle; brothers W. C. "Dub", and Kenneth Ray Towle; sisters Regina Towle Mercer, Glynden Towle Cox, Elaine Towle Tompkins and Jewel Towle Lusk McAlister. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Jane Seal Towle; brother Robert Lee Towle (Gayle); son John Warren Towle (Laurie) of Marietta, GA; daughter Julia Towle Luck (Chirs); grandchildren Carrie Luck Ezell (Jayson), Michael Wilson Towle, Angela Luck Shelton (Robert), and Matthew Stephen Towle; great-grandchildren, Ella and Fletcher Ezell, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind the many loving caregivers of Professional Case Management of Tennessee and Amedysis Hospice Care. Graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 19, 2014, 10:00 a.m., the Veteran's Garden, Highland Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014, Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel.
