WILLIS, REV. DR. CHARLES L. - of Knoxville, TN, departed this life Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge, TN, after a brief illness. Rev. Willis was born October 25, 1931, in Andersonville, TN, to the late Rev. O. W. and Vernice Willis. Preceded in death by brothers, Rev. Donald Willis, Clarence Willis and Rev. Joseph Willis. Survivors: devoted wife, Linda Upton Willis; son, Warren (Renee) Willis; daughters, Lanita Willis, Cozine Bohanan, and Jeannine Drummond; brothers, Elder O. W. Willis and Robert Willis; sisters, Hazel (Bill) White, Lillian Blair, Shirley Winton, Joan (Ed) Robinson, Kim Willis; sisters-in-law, Rebecca Willis, Wilma Upton, Margaret (Dr. Milton) Smith; brothers-in-law, Carroll Upton, Jerry Upton, Stanley (Tonya) Upton; grandchildren, Tenille Willis, Teandre (Naki) Willis, Charles Willis, Ashley, Aliscia and Terrell Bohanan and Lakeisha Willis; and eight great-grandchildren; many loving nieces and nephews and a host of family, friends, and many ministers of the Gospel; also cherishing his memory is the faithful and loving members of Greater Ebenezer Baptist Church, where he pastored for over 32 years. Family will receive friends, 5:00 - 6:00 p.m., Monday, at Peace and Goodwill Missionary Baptist Church, 1723 Washington Avenue; Homegoing service, 6:00 p.m., Rev. James R. Rice, Officiant, Rev. Robert Willis, Eulogist. Interment 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Mt. Sinai Cemetery, Clinton, TN. Arrangements by Jarnigan & Son
