ROTHSTEIN, LUNDA - age 76, of Knoxville, formerly of Morristown, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years Chuck Rothstein; and two sons, Morrie and Monty, both of Knoxville. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ada Brady; and her sister, Estelle Brady Buckner. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Knoxville. Born in Morristown, Lunda grew up with her sister, Estelle, and best friend and cousin, Ora Van McAlister Cobble. She graduated from Morristown High School with honors and was voted most athletic, after which she attended East Tennessee State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. While living in Knoxville where she was employed as an x-ray technician at Baptist Hospital, she met her husband, Chuck Rothstein. Together they started and ran their family businesses, Redi-Rentals and Party Rentals, for 30 years until selling the company and retiring to their lakeside home in 1998. They remained part owners of All Occasions Party Rentals. Lunda was a member of Akima and on the boards of the Knoxville Symphony League and Clarence Brown Theater. She was voted one of Knoxville's Best Dressed Women. She delivered Mobile Meals as a volunteer through her church, and was a member of the Knoxville Racquet Club where she was a formidable opponent on the tennis court. In addition, she belonged to a bridge club, an investment club and a lunch bunch made up of former neighbors and old friends. Lunda enjoyed travel in Europe and the tropics, the theater, especially Broadway musicals, the symphony, poetry, reading, and caring for her family. She was an avid Volunteer fan where she attended and games for decades. A deeply spiritual woman, Lunda was beloved by her many friends and enjoyed entertaining in her home. Always a lady full of grace, she won everyone's hearts with her humble strength of character, sincerity and beautiful smile. Her final days were spent at Little Creek Sanitorium, Northshore Drive, and the family is extremely grateful for the loving care she received there. A celebration of Lunda's life will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 31, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, with the Reverend Tom Seay officiating, preceded by the receiving of friends beginning at 5:00 p.m. Family and friends will gather at Hamblen Memory Garden, Morristown, on Tuesday, April 1, at 2:00 p.m. for a graveside service.
