LAND, ROBERT J. "BOB" - Age 63, passed away on November 13, 2013 in Spring Hill, TN. He was born in 1950 in Knoxville, TN. He graduated from Bearden High School in 1968 and from the University of Tennessee in 1972, where he played trombone in the U.T. "Pride of the Southland" Marching Band. Bob received his Master's Degree in Business Administration from Fayetteville State University. He was an ordained deacon of the New Covenant Presbyterian Church in Knoxville from 1972 until 1975. Mr. Land was employed by the Social Security Administration for over forty years beginning in 1973 at the Social Security Office in LaFollette, TN. There he met Sue Cox and they married December 27, 1975. He later served at Social Security Administration offices in Macon, Georgia and in Greeneville, Fayetteville, and Hickory, North Carolina. In 2007, he was appointed District Manager for the Social Security Administration offices in Columbia, Lawrenceburg, and Tullahoma, Tennessee. He is survived by his wife, Sue; brothers, Dr. Ted Land (Polly), Richard F. Land (Jane), and Jeff Land (Linda); nephews, nieces, grand nephews, and a grand niece. The family will receive friends at Lynnhurst Chapel, 2300 W. Adair Drive, Knoxville, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2014, with the memorial service to follow at 7:00 p.m. Interment is scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014, at Lynnhurst Cemetery.
