NORTON, BILL R. - age 76, of Strawberry Plains, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 21, 2014. Bill was known for being a prayer warrior and as a proclaimer of the Gospel message. He was a former employee of American Limestone. Preceded in death by parents, Marvin Norton and Gertrude Norton Davies; and step father, A. G. Davies. Survived by wife of 51 years, Mildred Palmer Norton; daughter, Sherri N. Webster; son-in-law, Brad Webster; grandsons, Gus and Sam Webster; the entire Arthur Palmer family who loved him as a brother. Also survived by special numerous nieces and nephews of the Palmer family; siblings, Charles Norton and Wanda Sue Vandergriff. A special thanks is extended to the 2nd floor staff and physicians at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center for their excellent and compassionate care. Funeral services will be 7:00 p.m. Friday, May 23, 2014, at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Vincent and Rev. Sam Grindstaff officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Angelic Ministries of Knoxville, 1218 N. Central Avenue, Knoxville, TN 37917. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 p.m., Saturday, Bridges Funeral Home, and proceed to Eastview Memorial Gardens for a 1:00 p.m. interment.
