COLLINS, MR. ALFRED LANUEL, JR. - passed away May 28, 2014 at UT Hospital. He was born on June 24, 1947 to the late Alfred Sr. and Ophia Collins. Mr. Collins was of Baptist faith, an officer with the Elks #160, and was a retired technician with AT&T and was employed at Lowe's. He served 4 years with the Navy and 16 years in the Air National Guard, during which he served in the Vietnam War and Desert Shield. Mr. Collins is survived by: his loving wife, Judy Burkhart Collins; son, Scott Collins of Lake City, FL; stepsons, Jeffrey (Christine) Steele of Knoxville, and Greg (Cyndy) Steele of Oliver Springs; grandchildren, Brandon, Bailey, and Julia Steele; step-great-grandson, Darien Byers; sisters, Judy Robinson and Barbara Collins; and special friends, Charlie Richardson and Fred Johnson. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Highland Memorial Chapel with Visitation beginning at 5:00 p.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m. in the Highland Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
