WEBB, ANNA BLANCHE CAMPE - age 91, widow of Edward Earl Webb, of Madisonville, passed away 11:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Blount Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family. Born January 1, 1923, and grew up in Sweetwater. Attended Hiwassee College, Vanderbilt University, and Peabody College completing her bachelor's and master's degrees in library science. Married Edward, formerly of Philadelphia, Mississippi, and they made their home in Atlanta, Georgia, where they raised their children. Served as a librarian at Hiwassee College, Agnes Scott College, Shorter College, and Emory University. Upon Ed's retirement as an elementary school principal, they returned to live in East Tennessee and care for Anna Blanche's mother. Served as the Madisonville public librarian for many years. Member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville. An avid reader and enjoyed the company of her family and neighbors. Enjoyed visiting her children's homes, rides to the mountains, and family time. Special caregivers, Ann Bahr and Pat Estes, were with her for many years and are precious to the family. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mike Curtis, Vonore; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Sharon Webb, Cumming, Georgia; grandchildren, Leslie Webb, Atlanta, Georgia, Stephanie Webb, Perth, Australia, Brianna and Andrew Curtis, Vonore. Preceded in death by mother, Pearl Fox Campe and father, Larkin Camp. Funeral 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Biereley-Hale Chapel, Dr. Lon Shoopman officiating. Interment 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Westview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Madisonville. Family will receive friends 5:30 - 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home, Madisonville.
