TURNER, RALPH EDWARD - age 59, departed this life on Monday, June 23, 2014. He is now in his Heavenly home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is preceded in death by parents, John Shivar and Dora Irene Turner; and brother-in-law, LeRoy Smith, Sr. He is survived by his brother, John Turner (Marcy); sisters, Joyce McGinley (William David "Red"), Gail Smith, and Millie Cheatham (Troy); as well as several nieces and nephews. Ralph was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was the owner and operator of Ralph's Carpet Installation. A faithful member of Walridge Baptist Church for many years, his Christian legacy will always be his kind heart, someone who was always available to help anyone in need. His Harley Davidson "Fatboy" was his pride and joy, and his love of animals is another testimony of his kind heart. He leaves behind his beloved dogs (Boo, Yogi, Brr, and Ben) and cats (Arch, Lace, Tony, and OC). Family and friends will meet at 1:15 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at East Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery (John Sevier Highway) for an 1:30 p.m. graveside service with military honors by East Tennessee State Veterans Honor Guard. A celebration of life service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Walridge Baptist Church (off Pleasant Ridge Road) with Pastor Toby Webber officiating.
