WYATT, HUGH EVAN, JR. - age 84, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014, at Emeritus in Oak Ridge. He was born April 29, 1930, in Roane County and has been a lifelong resident of this area. He was a dedicated member of Youngs Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church where he served as an elder. He and his wife, Billie, had also served as youth leaders at the church. He retired from Martin Marietta and ORNL as a maintenance mechanic. Mr. Wyatt was a member of Knoxville Carpenters Local No. 50 and helped with the construction of the new Kingston Bridge, along with being project manager during the construction of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Kingston Masonic Lodge. He loved fishing, hunting with his bird dogs, riding motorcycles, and was an avid golfer in his day. Preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannie Crystal Wyatt; son, Gregory E. Wyatt; grandson, Chuck Williams; parents, Anna Chester Wyatt and Hugh Evan Wyatt, Sr.; son-in-law, Ron Williams; sister, Volena Wyatt and Edna Lee McLain. Survivors: loving wife of 66 years, Billie Hedgecock Wyatt of Kingston; children, Aneitta Clay and husband, Alvin of Clinton, Lavonne Sherrod and husband, Jack of Knoxville, Ginger Williams of Kingston, Teresa Bell-Hafner and husband, Chaz of Kingston; grandchildren, Crystal Williams of Kingston, Heather Browne and husband, Chris of Kingston, Jeffrey Sherrod of Knoxville, Amy Carter and husband, Jeremy of Knoxville, David Bell and wife, Kim of Kingston, Anna Szemborski and husband, Sean of Knoxville; great grandchildren, Audrey, Gage and Camden Browne; sister, Kathleen Huff Baker and husband, Ben of Kingston; brothers-in-law, Fred McLain of Kingston, Charles Hedgecock and wife, Dottie of Huntsville, AL, J. C. Hedgecock and wife, Shirley of Tulsa, OK; sisters-in-law, Nettie Mae Sherrod and husband, Fred of Knoxville; best friend, Porter Leach of Kingston; several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. The family will receive friends 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2014, at Youngs Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church with funeral service following at 8:00 p.m., with Rev. Dale Watson officiating. Graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday at Lawnville Cemetery.
