LILES, LEONARD (RED) D. - age 89, of Lenoir City, passed away Wednesday morning, July 9, 2014 at his home. He was the son of the late Walter and Ethel Rupe Liles. Red was a retired employee of ORNL and served on the Loudon County School Board for eight years. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in WWII in the Philippines. Red was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his sister, Hazel Fain; and brothers, Herman, Carson, and J. W. Liles. Survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary Farris Liles; daughters and son-in-law, Sharon Liles of Maryville, Rebecca and Dan Thompson of Lenoir City; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Tina Liles of Oak Ridge, Eddie and Karen Liles of Lenoir City; sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Jim Roberts of Loudon; grandchildren, Danielle Presley, Amanda Marney, Heather Daniels and husband, Joel, Brittany Brands and husband, Justin; great-grandchildren, Jessica Cox and husband, Philip, Haley and Hayden Marney, Bekah Marshall, Abigail and Liam Daniels, and Will case; great great-grandchildren, Dallas and Tristan Cox; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to express a special thanks to caregiver, Coretta. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, July 10th at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Rev. Glenn Gamble and Rev. David Latham officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:00 a.m. Friday morning, and proceed to Pleasant Hill Cemetery for graveside services at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Russell Liles officiating. Military honors will be conferred by the Loudon Co. Veterans Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
