MANN, MEREDITH TURPIN - age 78, of Knoxville, Tennessee, passed away July 8, 2014. She was of the Presbyterian faith. Meredith was a member of Knox Heritage, the Knoxville Museum of Art, and the Knoxville Botanical Gardens. Her love of the arts in Knoxville lead her to serve as acting director of the Dulin Art Gallery. She also enjoyed her time as secretary to Dr. Alan Solomon for 15 years. Meredith will be remembered by family and friends as an amazing wife, mother, friend, and cook. John, Edith, and Hunter are grateful for the time they got to share with her and will miss her deeply. Meredith was preceded in death by parents, Marvin and Lois Turpin. She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, John K. Mann of Knoxville; daughters, Edith Patton of Duluth, GA, and Hunter P. Ivey of Charlotte, NC; step son, Windsor Mann of Washington, DC; and sisters, Margaret Snider of Miami, FL, and Lois T. Hunt of Silver Springs, MD. A celebration of Meredith's life will be held 7:00 p.m., Friday, July 11th, at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel on Kingston Pike, with Rev. Turner Howard officiating.
