SUTTON, JAMES OLIVER (BUDDY) - a lifelong resident of Sweetwater and member of the Sweetwater First United Methodist Church passed away at the age of 91 in his home on Tuesday July 15, 2014. He served in the Army Air Force during WWII and the Air Force during the Korean War. Buddy also attended and assisted with the operation of The Outpost Mission in Sweetwater. Buddy was a partner for more than 40 years in Hay, Morris, and Sutton Construction Company. He served on the Monroe County School Board for 3 years and the Monroe County Commission for 8 years. Buddy was a long-time member of the Sweetwater Valley Lodge IOOF #280. Buddy is preceded in death by his dear wife of 51 years, Emma Snyder Sutton; parents James Oliver Sutton, Sr. and Arta Ann Studdard Sutton; and sisters Essie Dickey and Eulah Morris. He is survived by several nephews, nieces, cousins; a host of dear friends and in-laws; and special caregivers, Mark Atkins, Debbie Beckman, and Dot Snyder. The family will receive friends on Thursday July 17, 2014 at the Sweetwater First United Methodist Church, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a funeral service to immediately follow with Rev. Mike Hubble, Rev. Larry Orr, and Rev. Blanch Settles officiating. Interment will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the Sweetwater Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers, please give generously to the Sweetwater United Methodist Church Hope and a Future Campaign or to the Outpost Mission (via the Sweetwater United Methodist Church).
