STONE, MILDRED NORTHERN - born June 18, 1925, in Lebanon, Tennessee, to Lois Wherry Northern and Thomas Dudley Northern, died July 22 , 2014 at Brakebill Nursing Home. Mildred, a graduate of Lebanon High School, was a loving homemaker for her husband Harold after he returned from World War II and worked while he attended college and law school. She raised their three children and was active in First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Knoxville until she became disabled. While her youngest daughter Susan was working her way through UT, Mildred worked for several years as the bookkeeper for the Bahou Container Restaurants in order to assist her. She was a loving mother and doting grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Glenna (partner Marilyn May) of Ellijay, Georgia; her son, Steven (wife Laura) of Knoxville; grandson, Evan of Knoxville; granddaughter, Caitlin of Johnson City; and many loving friends. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; brother. D.W.; and daughter, Susan Lynn Stone Evatt. The family will receive friends at 3:00 p.m., prior to the memorial service on Thursday, July 24th, at 4:00 p.m. at Stevens Mortuary.
