NORRIS, ALICE MARIE MAUTE - age 85, of Knoxville, TN formerly of Dayton, OH passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Parkwest Medical Center. She was born March 6, 1929 in Springfield, Ohio to John Maute and Norma Newland Maute. Alice was a graduate of Wilbur Wright High School in Dayton, Ohio and Wright State University. For many years she taught at Fairbrook and Parkwood Elementary schools in Beavercreek, Ohio. Alice was a member of Farragut Presbyterian Church and former member of Hawker United Church of Christ in Beavercreek, Ohio and First Presbyterian Church in Spring City, TN. Alice wrote poetry and authored two children's books. She read her poems to children to share her love of poetry. Alice and her husband, Charlie were active members of the Tennessee Valley Theatre in Spring City and performed in several plays. She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 65 years, Charles Alfred Norris; elder son, Steven Owen Norris; sister, Jean Gabriel; brothers, Robert Maute and James Maute and niece, Mary Ann Gabriel. Alice is survived by her daughter, Connie Begovich and husband, John of Knoxville; son, Ted Norris and wife Robin of Lexington, KY; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Norris Minor and husband, David of Pagosa Springs, CO; grandchildren, Amy, Aaron, Annie, Alice and Abby Begovich, Andrea Norris Arrowood and husband, Joshua, Tiffany Norris Poteet and husband Stephen, Steven Tyler Norris, Teri Norris Stewart and husband Sean, Angela Norris Wheland and husband Rich; great-grandchildren, Kate, Alanna, Cheyenne, Jaedyn, Ian, Ainsley, Isabella and Lila Marie; nieces, Joan Carfang and husband Dennis, Nancy Maynard and husband John and their sons, Harrison and Jacob, Elaine Maute and husband Daniel Weber; nephews, Robert Maute and wife, Susan, Kevin Maute and wife, Ann Maack; many other family and friends. The Norris family would like to extend their gratitude to members of Farragut Presbyterian Church for their loving prayers; "adopted daughter," Sharon Koch; special neighbors, Allison and Joel Ogden. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Farragut Presbyterian Church followed by a celebration of life at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Matthew Nieman and Rev.
