RUSSELL, JAMES EDWARD "ED", SR. - age 79, of Knoxville, passed away Thursday, August 14, 2014, at his home after a lengthy illness. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Beaver Ridge Lodge #366 F&AM, and Local Union #917 Operation Engineer. Retired in 1997 from Y-12 after 20 years of service. Preceded in death by wife, Betty White Russell; father, James C. Russell; sister, Mary "Bib" Wolfenbarger; his mother, Kate Russell passed away August 3, 2014. Her burial was held on August 5th at Wolf Valley Cemetery. He is survived by children, Vickie Lynn (Gary) Daniel, Deborah Kaye McGill, and James E. Russell, II; grandchildren, Jeremy and Joshua McGill, Ali, Chase, and Gena Daniel, Hope, Haley, and Alexah Russell; great grandchildren, Isabelle McGill, Erica Daniel, and Jayden McGill; brother, Clarence "Howdy" Russell; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5:00 - 7:00 p.m., Saturday, at Weaver's Chapel with the service to follow at 7:00 p.m., Pastor Ron Bright officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m., Sunday, at Highland Memorial Cemetery for a 1:00 p.m. interment. Condolences may be left at www.weaverfuneralservices.com.
