COOTER, RAY V. - age 82, of Knoxville went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 19, 2014. He was a life-long truck driver that retired from Overnight Transportation and was of the Baptist faith. He will be remembered as a loving father that was always there for his family and will be sadly missed. Preceded in death by wife, Alma J Cooter. Survivors include children, Dennis (Karen) Cooter, Larry (Sharon) Cooter, Teresa (Garland) Jarrett, Robert (Judy) Cooter, and Mary (Tom) Gajewski; 9 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren; special aunt, Juanita Green; devoted and trusted friend, Louise; along with his cherished pets, Bobby Ray and Diggie. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 22 at Highland Memorial Funeral Home, 5315 Kingston Pike, Knoxville, TN 37919, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, Pastor Allen Johnson officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Highland Memorial Park at Whispering Waters.
