SWABE, ROBERT E. - 82, of Powell, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014. Bob was born in Knoxville on July 29, 1932, and lived his entire life in Knoxville and Knox County. He was a member and deacon emeritus of Sharon Baptist Church in Powell. He retired from the FBI after 37 years of service, and later from TEMA after 16 years of service. Bob was an avid supporter of the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad, and served on the board of directors for over 40 years, many of which he served as board chairman. He was a widely known expert in the field of search and rescue and participated in many searches, not just locally, but in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and nationally. He taught his skills to countless others throughout his careers with the Bureau and with TEMA, and continued to teach after his retirement. He was preceded in death by parents, Lester and Ona Swabe; grandson, Kevin Swabe; great grandsons, Nicholas and David Christopher Jeansonne. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Phyllis Swabe; sister, Elizabeth (Lib) Guzzetta of Niceville, Florida; children, Greg (Karen) Swabe, Donna (Rick) Maddox, Scott (Amy) Swabe, Sandi (Scotty) Jarnagin; grandchildren, Carmen (Jason) Jeansonne, Kelly (Jason) Clemmer, Kristen (Dylan) Cox, Gretchen Swabe, Holly Maddox, Katie Swabe, and Charlie Swabe; great grandchildren, Nathan and Matthew Jeansonne, Alexander, Benjamin, and Grace Clemmer, Wyatt Patterson and his little brother Baby Boy Cox (due in December). Also survived by two special daughters of the heart, Tanya Leenheer and children Kathee (Michael) McKee, Kayla (Lewie) Coble, Kyle Leenheer; and Carmella (Bryan) Yow and children, LeTisha (BJ) DeLozier, Kristina (Rob) Sims, Jasper and Ian Yow; Bob's special canine companion, Ratchet. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Sharon Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark McCoig and Dr. James Robertson officiating. The family and friends will meet at 10:15 a.m., Monday, August 25, 2014, at Rose Mortuary Broadway Chapel and travel in procession to Highland Memorial Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m., entombment service. Pallbearers will be Tennessee State Park Rangers, Alexander Clemmer, Benjamin Clemmer, Charlie Swabe, and Nathan Jeansonne. Honorary pallbearers will be Sharon Baptist Church deacons, and KVERS Board and Squad members. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Knoxville Volunteer Emergency Rescue Squad (512 N.
