PICKERING, WILLIAM "BILL" - age 81, a resident of Kingston, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at the Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge surrounded by his loving family. He was born December 26, 1931, in Greenback, Tennessee. Mr. Pickering was a member of Southwest Point Baptist Church in Kingston. He was also a United States Navy/ Air Force veteran who served as a parachute packer during the Korean War. Bill worked as a superintendent for James Covington Construction Company of Georgia, the MidEast Construction of West Tennessee and he retired from Brimer Steel Erectors of Alcoa. He was an avid bowler with the Senior Bowlers, and Wednesday night league of Midtown. Bill lived a full life and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Franklin and Mary Oneal Pickering; brothers, Joseph Pickering, Jr, Gilbert Ray Pickering and John Allen Pickering; sisters, Hazel Mae Pickering and Betty June Raver. Survivors: loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Beason Pickering of Kingston; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Melissa Pickering of Kingston; brother and sister-in-law, Charlie and Alex Pickering of Harriman; grandchild, Sydney Pickering of Kingston; sister-in-law, Della Pickering of Paint Rock; special friend, James T. Haney of Panama City, FL; a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Fraker Funeral Home with funeral service following at 12:00 noon, in the chapel with Rev.
