I just learned of the very sad news of Howard's passing. I called as always close to Christmas, looking forward to our holiday visit, and learned from NHC that he was no longer with us. Howard and Virginia were like family to me, as they had known me since birth, being close friends of my family, and treated me so kindly throughout the years and especially after the passing of my mother when I moved back to Knoxville..taking me to Central Methodist church with them and many activities regularly. I will miss Howard greatly. He is with his sweet Virginia now and I am peaceful knowing he now rests in Peace.

I was sad to read about Howard. He was a strong Christian man and he will be missed. I knew Howard and Virginia from Central Methodist, and they were in the "original" bridge club along with my parents. He is walking with God and is reuniting with Virginia.

Howard had a wonderful friendly disposition and a great sense of humor. He was an asset to the Southern Railway System and his fellow Officers of the Company. So long to my friend, Howard Heinz! Jerry Merrell

We were so happy to have known Howard through my sister, Linda Robinson, who helped him maintain his house and yard over the past five years, which gave him a reason to live. He will surely be missed.
