Gene accepted me into his family so graciously, and he became like my own grandpa. He was a caring, generous great-grandfather to our children. I am so grateful to have known and loved him. We will all miss him.

I have called Chief Huskey "Pap" since I can remember. He was a wonderful grandfather. He was at every game, birthday, holiday, or event that Mike or I were involved in. He was the type of man that lived an honest and clean life. Pap wanted us to learn from how he lived and not just what he said. It is incredibly sad to see him go but I know the Lord is rejoicing to receive such a wonderful man. I love you Pap and will see you again in eternity.

Chief Huskey influenced and helped so many officers at the Knoxville Police Department. His work and accomplishments set him apart as a leader. I am thankful to have had the privilege of knowing him and being influenced by his work ethic and commitment to do the right thing. God Bless our friend and colleague Chief Huskey.
Warm and Sincere Regards,

I was honored to work in the Detective Bureau, as a Secretary, with Captain Huskey (at that time) in the 70's. He was a wonderful person to work with and a wonderful officer. He was always very respectful and kind to everyone he met! He loved his job and we loved seeing him come to work because he was always so much fun to be around. I lost contact with most everyone at the station when I chose and was blessed to be able to stay home and raise my children. May GOD richly bless and comfort you all in the days ahead. Treasure and remember the memories you have of your loved one!!
