ANGOLA — Estle DeLoss Shoup, 93, of Angola, Indiana, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Lakeland Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Angola.
He worked as a postman for the United States Postal Service in Angola. He also worked at Weiss Machine Shop, Angola, Indiana.
He was born April 30, 1920, in Angola, Indiana, to John and Toretta (Heiserman) Shoup. He married Mary Elizabeth Lepley on August 18, 1946.
He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Angola, the Angola Moose Lodge, Angola American Legion Post 31 and the George Anspaugh VFW
He served his country in the U.S. Navy
Estle is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Nancy Shoup of Angola; a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Don Kelley of San Diego, Calif.; six grandchildren, Traci and Tim Bruick, Vicki and Mike Yates, Terri and Jason Lockwood, Cassandra Shoup, Tim and Leighann Shoup and Kelly and Shaun Hill; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Nill.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Elizabeth Lepley on October 16, 2010; his son, John Shoup in 1999; six brothers, Gail Shoup, Wavel Shoup, Roy Shoup, Clelo Shoup, Kenneth Shoup, Raymond Shoup; and three sisters, Gladys Wathen, Hazel Shoup and Juanita Aldrich.
Services will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the Weicht Funeral Home, Angola, Indiana, with Pastor Deborah Davis officiating.
Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
Burial will be in Circle Hill Cemetery, Angola, Indiana.
