AUBURN — William N. "Bill" Brown, 79, of Auburn died Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at The Laurels of DeKalb Nursing Home in Butler.
Mr. Brown worked as a real estate agent for Graber Reality in Auburn for 14 years. He then went to work as a minister for the Church of Christ located in Steele, Mo., Kettering, Ohio, and Indianapolis before retiring in 2003.
He was a veteran of the United States Army
He was a member of the North Church of Christ in Fort Wayne. He was a former member of the Auburn Lions Club and also helped organize and coach Little League basketball in the Auburn area.
He was born Dec. 10, 1934, in Fort Wayne to Robert L. and Ruby L. (Spero) Brown. He married Dorothy V. Foster on April 6, 1957, in Union, N.J., and she survives in Auburn.
Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A. "Patty" and Kevin Allison of Avilla; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth W. "Ken" and Nancy Brown of Auburn and Robert L. "Bob" and Nancy Brown of Greenwood; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Marge E. and Robert Knott of Auburn, Janet Badman of Hamilton, Janice and Eldon "Bill" Russell of Wolcottville, Donna and Jon Hire of Auburn, and Cheryl Stephens of Kendallville; and a brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Tana Brown of LaOtto.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Jean Ann Brown.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with David Hewitt officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.
Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
