HAMILTON — Calvin Depew Jr., 59, died Sunday June 8, 2014, at his home in Hamilton.
He was born Aug. 21, 1954, in Auburn. He married Linda Pence on Dec. 27, 1985, in Auburn, and she survives in Hamilton.
Also surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Emily and David Mahler of Findley, Ohio; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jacob Depew of Findley, Ohio, Scott Jones of Auburn, and Danny and Michelle Jones of Ohio; six grandchildren, Justin and Emily Mahler of Findley, Ohio, Kaelee, Zack, and Emily Jones of Auburn, and Gabbie Jones of Ohio; his mother and stepfather, Mary Ellen Huff and Carl Huff Sr. of Hamilton; brothers and sisters and their spouses, Richard and Lucy Depew of Auburn, Cheryl and Rick Monroe of Auburn, Loretta and Kim Kreischer of Auburn, Teri and Craig Fitzcharles of Newville, Donna Stahl of Hudson, Carl Jr. and Tammy Huff of Auburn, Diana and Tim Dennison of Garrett, Charlotte and John Burns of Auburn, Troy Huff of Hamilton, Carolyn Sperry of Auburn, Mary Chavis of Kendallville, Jim Huff of Butler, Kathy and Kevin Fackler of Waterloo, Kenny Depew and his companion, Denise Mettert, of Waterloo, Carolyn and Jim Anderson of Fremont, and Jarvis Hollar of Waterloo; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father and stepmother, Calvin Depew Sr. and Ada Depew; and a brother, David Depew.
Calvin was a member of the Agape Assembly of God in Waterloo.
Calvin loved fishing, trains, camping, and spending time with his family, but most of all he loved playing Santa Clause at Christmas time. He was known to be a big jokester, especially to his sisters, which they loved and will miss dearly.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Agape Assembly of God, 960 W. Lincoln St., Waterloo, with Pastor Thomas Neddersen officiating.
Memorials may be directed to Feller and Clark Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
