HAMILTON — Junior Houser, 91, formerly of Butler, died Saturday, March 8, 2014.

He was born in Butler on August 8, 1922 to the late Russell and Zelma (Miser) Houser. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II from 1942-1946. Junior married T. Maxine (Buchs) on December 21, 1950 and she preceded him in death on December 15, 1986. He remarried on August 8, 1992 to Dorothy (Rowe) Simanton and she survives.
Junior worked for Universal Tool and Stamping (Jack Factory) in Butler for over 35 years in the maintenance department, where he was known for his pranks. He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church south of Butler.
Surviving are three daughters, Kathy (Jerry) Simanton of Hamilton, Vickie (Salvador) Gomez of Auburn and Kimberly "Cubby" (Jeff) Rattray of Muncie; a stepdaughter, Jan (Tom) Weaver of Auburn; one sister, Ruth Bowman of Butler; six grandchildren, Tavis Rattray, Sheena and Olivia Gomez, JT Simanton, Tessa and Cory Weaver; and one great-grandchild, Xavier Weaver.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wayne and Carroll Houser.
Services will be Wednesday March 12, 2014 at 11 AM at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church, 4099 CR 59 Butler. Pastor Christine E. Fodrea will be officiating. Burial will follow at the Butler Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday March 11, 2014, 4 – 7 PM at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the American Heart Association, National Kidney Foundation, Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church or DeKalb County Humane Society.
