BELVIDERE, Ill. — Patricia Lou Tolsma, 78, of Belvidere died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the O.S.F. St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford, Illinois, following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Tolsma had been a bookkeeper for the DeLong Grain Elevator in Garden Prairie, Illinois.
She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Belvidere, Illinois.
She was born February 27, 1936, to Laurence and Alberta (Schmuck) Jackson. She was a graduate of Rome City High School in Rome City, Indiana.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Kelly) Tolsma of Belvidere, Ill.; a daughter, Jan (Mark) Newport of Montgomery, Ill.; seven, grandchildren, Sherri (Shaun) Taylor, Travis (Kaleena) Tolsma, Cory (Sarah) Neubert, Erica (Mason) Golden, Emily Anderson, Christian Anderson, and Christina Newport; eight great-grandchildren, Aliyah, Camryn, Kaitlyn, Tommy, Caden, Maximus, Aaron and Jillian; a brother Roger (Linda) Jackson; and a special friend, Kathy Arnett.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a daughter, Sherri.
Funeral services will be at 5:30 p.m. Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1045 E. Belvidere Road, Belvidere, Illinois. Burial will be private in Belvidere Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 1, 2014, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lutheran Church Charities K-9 Comfort Dogs through Immanuel Lutheran Church.
