AUBURN — Twylia F. Hakey, 82, of Auburn died Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at DeKalb Health in Auburn.
Mrs. Hakey worked for Cooper-Standard Automotive in Auburn for over 26 years, retiring in 1994. After her retirement, she worked as a mystery shopper and also as a sampler for Moss Distributing.
She was a member of the Auburn Church of the Nazarene and was an active volunteer for the RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program).
She was born April 9, 1932, in Fort Wayne to John F. and Minnie (Krauter) Anderson. She married Robert A. Hakey on April 28, 1956, in Angola, and he preceded her in death in 1966.
Surviving are six sons and daughters-in-law, Barry Harden of Auburn, Jerry and NuEve Harden of Hamilton, Roger and Barbara Hakey of Kendallville, John Hakey of Mendon, Ohio, Philip and Lucille Hakey of Albion, and Mark Hakey of Auburn; two daughters and a son-in-law, Bonnie Crabtree of Johnson City, Tenn., and Tina Marie and David Hicks of Auburn; 22 grandchildren; and 43 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; a son, Dale L. Hakey; a sister, Charlotte Louden; a grandson; and a granddaughter.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center St., Auburn, with Pastor Doug Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Avilla Cemetery in Avilla.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. today prior to the service at the funeral home.
