FORT WAYNE — Jerry Lee Hegerfeld, 68, was called to his heavenly home Sunday, June 29, 2014.

Born in Fort Wayne, Jerry was a well-respected restaurateur for 45 years and was an inspiration to his employees. He was co-owner of the Hobby Ranch House in Fort Wayne and Captain's Cabin in Angola and had owned Jerry's Restaurant in Fort Wayne and the Village Cafe in Monroeville.
Jerry had also worked for KFC, Chens, Fish of Stroh, Ceruti's, and Carousal Supper Club. In his retirement he worked part-time for Cap N Cork and S & V Liquors.
Jerry was a loving, supporting, caring and proud husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Judy Hegerfeld; daughters, Lisa Hegerfeld, Kelly Novielli, Stacy (Jamison Norris) Hegerfeld, and Renee Boger, all of Fort Wayne; a granddaughter, Angela Natalia Novielli; four grandsons, Nicholas and Andrew Novielli, Austin Hegerfeld, and Cameron Boger; a stepsister, Linda Ziner; and several nieces and a nephew.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Lois Hegerfeld; a brother, Steve; and a stepbrother, David Ziner.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at D. O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Road, with calling one hour prior to the service.
Calling is also from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery.
