AUBURN — Jeanetta Joy LaCour, 89, of Auburn and formerly of Angola, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.

She was born in Waterloo in DeKalb County on September 13, 1924. Her parents were Lester and Olive (Durst) Buss. They have both passed away, as has a brother, James Buss, and a stepson, Johnny LaCour.
Joy retired in 1980 after 23 years as a telephone operator for Indiana Bell of Indianapolis. She was a former member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Angola, American Legion Auxiliary of Angola, Angola Moose Lodge, Steuben County Women's Club and Telephone Pioneers of America.
She married Thomas LaCour on July 22, 1961 in Auburn and he died September 21, 1994.
Surviving Joy is her sister-in-law, Carol Buss of Auburn; nieces, Kim Carthen of Auburn and Dawn Buss of Auburn; a great-niece, Ashlee Wells; a great-nephew, Nathan Carthen; and her stepdaughter, Beverly Reed of Indianapolis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Auburn with Father Derrick Sneyd officiating. Burial will be in Waterloo Cemetery, Waterloo.
Calling is today, Friday, from 4-6 p.m. at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo, and also one hour prior to the service at the church Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.
Preferred memorials are to St. Anthony Catholic Church of Angola or Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Auburn.
