KENDALLVILLE — Mildred Jane Mardock Young, 80, of Kendallville, formerly of Clay County, Alabama, died Saturday July 26, 2014, at Lutheran Life Villages, Kendallville.

Mrs. Young was born in San Diego, California, but graduated from Mullin High School in Mullin, Idaho. She had worked as an office manager at Kool Magic Awning Co. in Pomona, California, for many years.
She married Harold Edgar Young in 1972 in Lake Arrow Head, California. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda McDarby and Debra Dunlap, both of Colorado; three sons, Jim Hamilton of Kendallville, Richard Young of New Mexico, and Ronald Young of Spokane, Washington; two sisters, Lucille Williams and Louise Walsworth, both of Puyallup, Washington; a brother, Harold Mardock of Coos Bay, Oregon; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester Gaylord Mardock and Gertrude Eulaila Fewins Mardock; and a daughter, Connie Low.
Graveside services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Ashland City Cemetery, Ashland, Alabama, with the Rev. Wayne Adams officiating.
Calling will be at Benefield Funeral Home, Ashland, Thursday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
