LAGRANGE — Deanna Sue Shroyer, age 43, of LaGrange, died on Friday, August 1, 2014, as the result of an automobile accident near Angola, Indiana.
Mrs. Shroyer was born in Anderson, Indiana, on August 21, 1970, to Micheal Dean Sample and Susan Renee Adams.
She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1989 and attended Ivy Tech in Fort Wayne.
She married Daniel Ray Shroyer on October 29, 1994, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Angola.
Deanna was a dedicated and loving wife, homemaker and mother to many children. She and Dan raised and adopted many foster children into their home while also having several children of their own.
She was member of the New Beginnings Community Church in Sturgis, Michigan.
Deanna was such an understanding person and a good listener. She was kind-hearted and caring, always giving what she had to help others. She put others before herself and was never judgmental. She loved life and worked tirelessly to bring joy into other's lives as well. Deanna love animals of all kinds, she loved to bake, and she loved Jesus … striving to put God first in her life in all she did.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel Shroyer of LaGrange; five daughters, Dannysue Shroyer at home, Audrey Ann Shroyer at home, Julianna Shroyer at home, Bianca Shroyer of LaGrange and Linda Shroyer of Fort Wayne; six sons, Racer Shroyer at home, Max Shroyer at home, Dexter and Lisa Shroyer of Norfolk, Virginia, Jacob Lichstinn, United States Air Force based in California, Kyle Lichstinn of Fort Wayne and Nathan Shroyer of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren; her mother, Susan and Ronald Adams of Fremont; two sisters, Charlene and Greg Purtlebaugh of Georgia and Michelle and Mark Joseph of Anderson; an aunt, Carolyn Sample of Mishawawka; an uncle, Bill Sample of Mishawaka; her mother- and father-in-law, Pat and Barb Shroyer of Big Turkey Lake, Hudson, Indiana; a brother-in-law, Andy and Lisa Shroyer of Angola; two sisters-in-law, Lori and Tommy Melchi of Pleasant Lake, Indiana and Paula Cranfill and Tracy King of Angola; many nieces and nephews; best friend and like a sister, Cyndi and Brandon Bechtold of Ashley; and her paternal grandmother, Esther Shroyer of Fort Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her father, Micheal Sample, and maternal grandmothers, Virginia Sample and Esther Trout.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 9, 2014, from 2-7 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Sunday, August 10, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Stroh Church of Christ in Stroh. Officiating the funeral service will be Pastor Randy Evans. Burial will be at Wright Cemetery near Stroh.
Preferred memorials may be made to to the family of Daniel Shroyer.
