SOUTH MILFORD — Drex Arnold Bricker, age 69, of South Milford, died on Thursday, August 14, 2014 while on vacation near Alexandria, Minnesota.
Mr. Bricker was born in Kendallville, Indiana on October 22, 1944 to the late Gerald and Lucille (Budd) Bricker. He graduated from Churubusco High School in 1962 and started working at Lyall Electric in Kendallville. Drex was a dedicated manager of Lyall Electric in Kendallville for his entire career. He retired in 2000 after 38 years.
Drex enjoyed rabbit and raccoon hunting and raising competition coon dogs. He loved horses and was a member of the Noble County 4-H Horse and Pony Club when his children where younger. He also raced horses with chariots and raised and showed draft horses in the past. Drex was a member of the South Milford United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Laura and Joe Petrie of Athens, Wisconsin; a son, Dan and Michelle Bricker of Lee, New Hampsire; grandchildren Jenna and Bill Schug of Athens, Wisconsin, Brant and Angel Petrie of Marshfield, Wisconsin, Daryn Petrie, Senior Airman, United State Air Force, stationed at MacDill AFB, Tampa, Florida, and Wyatt Bricker of Janesville, Wisconsin; two great grandchildren, John and Lena Schug; a brother, Kevin and Lynn Bricker of Athens Wisconsin; and a sister, Twila and Guy Whonsetler of LaOtto, Indiana.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lynn Bricker.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.
Funeral services will be Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Hite Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Donna Holcomb, from South Milford United Methodist Church, will officiate the funeral service.
Burial will be at Swan Cemetery near LaOtto.
Preferred memorials may be made to Blazing Saddles 4-H Horse and Pony Club or Noble County Draft Horse Association.
