ANGOLA — Gerald L. Haifley, 86, of West Otter Lake, Angola, died Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014, at Parkview Noble Hospital in Kendallville.

Mr. Haifley worked for Rieke Corp. for 15 years, hauled milk for County Line Cheese for 20 years and hauled liquid asphalt for Klink Trucking in Ashley for 5 years, retiring in 1995.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947 in the 11th Airborne Para Glider Infantry during WW II.
Mr. Haifley was a member of the Orland American Legion Post 427 and the Angola VFW.
He was born March 30, 1928, in Auburn to Earnman and Alice Joy (Keller) Haifley.
Surviving are three sons, Harrold (Carmen) Haifley, Dan (Terra Geiger) Haifley and Jerry Haifley all of Angola; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jessie Mae (Roberts) Haifley; a stepson, James Harris; a great-grandson, Dustin Haifley; and two sisters, Katherine Carper and Eleanor Rathert.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 875 S. Wayne St., Waterloo. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Auburn.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
