Charles Spangle

ANGOLA — Charles K. Spangle, 93, passed away and entered heaven on January 22, 2017. He was born on June 1, 1923, in Angola to Charles H. and Grace (Stiefel) Spangle. Charles grew up near Buck Lake Ranch and married Jane Noragon on August 12, 1944. In 1948, he and Jane purchased a small farm near Alvarado, Indiana, and in 1970 moved back to Angola. In addition to farming, he worked at Weatherhead/Dana Corporation from 1949 to 1988. His interests included travelling, gardening, cars and collecting Indiana State license plates. Charles was a member of the Angola Christian Church.
Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Jane (Noragon) Spangle, and his sister, Lois (Spangle) Rammel. He will be deeply missed by his children, Richard (Marva) Spangle, Angola, Indiana, Barbara Gebhardt, Chandler, Arizona, Margaret Rockey, Phoenix, Arizona, and Marilyn (Steven) Penland, Wheaton, Illinois; four grandchildren, Chad (Cathie) Rockey, Lauri (Ken) Regacho, David (Samantha) Penland, and Leah Penland: five great-granchildren; four nieces; and one nephew.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017, at H.E. Johnson & Sons Funeral Home, 108 S. West St., Angola with calling from 1-2 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. with John Coney, Minister of the Angola Christian Church officiating. Burial will be at Circle Hill Cemetery in Angola.
