James "Jim" Louis Hailey aka "Cowboy" 84, passed away peacefully Sept 2, 2013 after being diagnosed with a brain tumor just two months prior. A memorial gathering will be held 1:00pm Wednesday September 18, 2013 at the VFW

Jim was born in Ellensburg, Washington, July 12, 1929, the only child of James Hailey and famous trick rider, Berenice Blair Hailey-Taylor-Dossey-Bolen. Siblings were Linus Hailey who preceded Jim in death, Eddie (Dossey) Bolen and Cinde (Dossey) Barthelmess. Jim had 5 children, Jamie McMillan, Jill Gentile, Jacqueline "Jackie" Jackson, son in law, Bill Jackson, and two of whom preceded Jim in death, an infant daughter, and son James "Bubba" Hailey. Survivors include James and Hailey Jackson, Monty Renfrow, Luke Kies, Ben and Lance Deleissegues and 7 great-grandchildren.
Jim was a Heavy equipment trainer for the army during the Korean War and played football for the Army European team in France. Jim was an impressive athlete; he excelled at everything he did. Rodeo was his passion. During his rodeo career he won or placed at most of the major rodeos held in the United States. Jim raised his children in a world of planes, limousines, and boats, with a passion for horses. He was a successful businessman mainly focusing on construction from roads and pads to airplane hangars. He will be missed.
