James William Flint, 86,was born October 2,1926 in Pierpont, South Dakota and passed away peacefully January 30, 2013 in Ellensburg, WA. Mr. Flint lived the past 25 years in Ellensburg, WA. He previously lived in Federal Way and Maple Valley, WA, as well as, Boring and Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by his beloved Irene, a native of Ellensburg.

James was a Sergeant, radio operator in the combat infantry and Purple Heart veteran of the Pacific Theater in WWII. He had a love of motorcycles (Multnomah County Sheriff's office stunt drill team) and ham radio brought him lifelong friends that he cherished. Mr. Flint was a welder at Beall Pipe and Tank, then a salesman for McCabe Powers and Slattery Equipment Company where he traveled extensively throughout the northwest and Alaska and often took his 4 boys along to explore the world.
Mr. Flint is survived by sons, James (Centennial, CO), Bruce (Seldovia, AK), Wayne (Anchor Point, AK), and Glenn (Auburn, WA). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services (open to friends and family) will be Saturday, February 2, 1:00p.m. at the High Valley Cemetery, 2521 Robinson Canyon Rd. Ellensburg, WA. An open gathering for friends and family will follow at 2:00p.m. at the Ellensburg American Legion Hall,1101 Craig Ave, in Ellensburg.
