Loyd "Bud" Garrett. Bud passed away on January 7, 2013 at the age of 85. He was born in Milo, Missouri on February 14, 1927 to Earl and Viola Garrett. After graduating from Nevada, Missouri High School, he joined the Navy and spent his 18th birthday in the Philippines. In 1947, following the war he returned long enough to pack and join up with his good buddy and move to Renton, WA. Later in 1947 he met his wife Shirley Ann Stimach from Roslyn. They were married July 4, 1948 in Seattle, WA. Bud worked at Boeing, retiring after 40 years. He was a volunteer fireman for King County Fire District #20 in Skyway for 40 years retiring as Captain; he was a member of the V.F.W. for 37 years. After Shirley retired form Boeing they moved back to Cle Elum, where he loved to hunt and be with his family and best buddy, Cousin Richard Owens Jr. at deer camp.

Loyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley Garrett, son Loyd Garrett Jr. and daughter Julie Palmer all of Cle Elum, eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Barbara (Steve) Sowers, many family members and friends. Bud was preceded in death by his parents, son Earl J Garrett, daughter Laurie Carpenter, three sisters and two brothers. A memorial service will be held Saturday January 19th at 12:00 p.m. at the Cle Elum Eagles 220 Pennsylvania Ave Cle Elum, WA with a luncheon to follow.
