Stephen went peaceably to be with his Heavenly Father on April 25th at his home surrounded by his loving family in Ellensuburg, WA. Stephen was born on November 7, 1930 in Spangler, Pennsylvania to Stephen & Mary (Schoppa) Mehal.

He moved to Wyoming in 1946 where he met the love of his life, Corrine Wilson. They married at the Roman Catholic Church in Rock Springs, Wyoming on October 13, 1952. He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1955, during this time they made their first home together in Torrance, California where their four children were born.
Looking for a better place to raise their family, they moved to Ellensburg in 1966. Steve's first job was for Boston Hay Company, then Ellensburg Cement before starting his own diesel repair shop, B.C.&S. Service.
Steve was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, The American Legion, 40 & 8, and Masonic Lodge #39.
He is survived by his wife Corrine of 60 years; daughters, Debbie Mehal, Dottie (Mike) Rogers, Deanna (Charlie) Pringle; son Duane (Anne Goblet) Mehal; 10 grandchildren, Chelsea (Damian) Kelly, Nathan Palm, Dane and Mason Rogers, Ian (Chelsea Gosk) Weaver, Rachel (Trevor) Gromlich, Skyler Mehal, Colin and Aidan Pringle, and Faith Mehal; 5 great-grandchildren, Anthony Mehal, Stone and Scarlett Kelly, Grayson Weaver, and Elijah Gromlich. Brothers, Frank (Evelyn) Mehal, Regis (Kathy) Mehal, Bill (Lavone) Kohl, and sister, Mary Littler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Patricia Brunswick and brother Jack Kohl.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew's Catholic Church on May 7th at 11:00 AM with reception to follow. The graveside service will be for family members only. Brookside Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
