The Guest Book is expired.
On the evening of February 18th 2014 Lucille K. Johnson went to be with the Lord. Lucille passed on her terms at the age of 91 at her home in the Badger Pocket area.
Lucille was born on July 10, 1922 to H.H. and Opal Zeek in Oilton, Oklahoma. Lucille grew up living her childhood in Arkansas. Lucille came to Washington in February of 1944 to join her brother Jack Zeek in working for the Winslow Marine Railway as a welder in the ship yard. She stood only 4 foot 3 inches at the time and weighed in at ninety six pounds. She was proof big things come in small packages. Lucille was known for her love of animals apparent by the ten skunks that called her front porch their dining room, she never turned an animal away be it a cat, a dog or even a skunk.
Though she only reached a height of four foot, nine, she made up for her lack of size with her very big attitude never asking for help and always offering a helping hand. She touched everyone and every animal's life she came in contact with.
On March 28th of 1974 Lucille married Oda K. Johnson-a pair to the end. Together with Oda she enjoyed working the hardware store in Kittitas and was also a member with the Legion in Ellensburg, Washington. Lucille also enjoyed getting away to a game of bingo for the afternoon.
Lucille was preceded in death by her husband Oda K. Johnson. Her mother Opal and father H.H.; her two brothers, Jack and Buster and three sisters, Erinestine, Dorthy and Bettyann.
Lucille is survived by her three sons Richard (Gayetta) Hink, John (Cindy) Hink-Aka Punk Hink, and Wilford (Lizann) Hink-Aka Shorty Hink. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with nephews and nieces.
Services for Lucille will be held March 7, 2014, at the IOOF cemetery at 1:30 pm followed by a potluck celebration of life at the Kittitas Community Hall.
In lieu of flowers it was Lucille's wishes that donations be made to the Ellensburg Animal shelter.
