Helen Louise White, born on May 19, 1926, in Outlook, Washington, passed away on July 6, 2014, at Kittitas Valley Community Hospital. Helen is predeceased by her husband, Walter and her sister, Mic. Helen and Walter were married for 56 years.
Helen is survived by her daughter, Kelly Lane; grandchildren, Ryan Lane and Sheli Morrell; sister, Hazel Bell; and nephews, Tom Bell and Ross Bell. Helen was a resident of Tumwater for 47 years and resided in Ellensburg, Washington, for the past two years.
Helen attended Sunnyside High School in Sunnyside, Washington, and Washington State University. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker and was devoted to her husband, daughter, Kelly, and her grandchildren.
Like her husband, Walter, service to her community was very important to Helen, and she gave of her talents in many ways. She was active in her church, Tumwater First United Methodist, where she sang in the choir and volunteered in a variety of ways. She was a proud member of the Order of Eastern Star for the past 50 years. Helen had also volunteered for the Red Cross and the Thurston County Blood Bank.
Helen loved her many friends and enjoyed their companionship and appreciated their times together. Most important to Helen was her family. They were the joys of her life. She is most remembered for her youthful spirit and her care and concern for others.
Her graveside memorial service will be held at the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Tumwater, Washington, on July 27, 2014 at 2:00 pm. There will be a celebration of life gathering at Dry Creek Retirement, Assisted Living Community, in Ellensburg on August 1st at 10:00am. Her cremation arrangements are under the direction of Steward & Williams Tribute center, and condolences for the family can be left at www.steward-williams.com.
