Poinsettia "Pins" Dawson of Yakima passed away Monday, February 11, 2013 at the age of 95. She was born, April 9, 1917, to parents Shadrach and Frances (Morgan) Evans. Pins attended public school and graduated from the University of Washington. She married Reed A. Dawson on June 29, 1940 and started their life of 53 years together in Pullman, WA. They had three children.

Pins taught school for 24 years in Sunnyside, Thorp, Granger and Ellensburg. She loved teaching and her students.

Pins was preceded in death by her parents, husband Reed and one brother. She is survived by her children Larry (Audrey) of Everett, David (Christine) of Aberdeen, WA and Rebecca Briere of Yakima; six grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren and one cousin Lois Estby.

Pins was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ellensburg, WA.

Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Ellensburg.
